Dear Mrs. White,
I watched the t.v. movie on your family last year, & although I had heard about Ryan before, that show really brought the situation to my attention.
If I felt & I now especially feel as though I knew your son & what your family had gone through for the past 5 years. That's why when I heard about Ryan's death I felt I had to do something more than just cry in front of the t.v. set.
I'm an attorney in San Jose, Ca. I try to do some free legal work for people diagnosed w/ AIDS or HIV-positive, such as drafting wills & powers of attorney. I've met a number of people suffering from the disease, but unfortunately, usually by the time I meet them they are only shells of what they must have once been. However, I'm most deeply touched by the family & friends who somehow manage to keep their spirits & get through what must be a deeply tragic moment.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm so very, very sorry about Ryan's death & everything you & your son & daughter have had to go through. Ryan's story although sad,
will has been an inspiration to me & I know to others as well.
I'm enclosing a small check - hopefully it can help you for whatever you want to use it for.
